Thanks to linuxg.net for the steps on how to install VMWare Player 6.0.1 on Debian Testing (Jessie). Basically, install a couple of Debian packages needed for building, download the tar ball, untar, and build.
I did run into a problem when running VMWare Player for the first time. Evidently, with some of the 3.x kernels there is a patch that is needed for the vmnet module. Thanks to davejingtian.org for the steps on how to implement the patch.
